We are Working International Visas Limited, and our client is a transport accident repair specialist looking for a truck mechanic to join the team in Wingfield.
The role will be one with responsibility for the assembly and repair of heavy vehicles including running diagnostic tests on vehicles to find faults, analysing diagnostic test results, fitting and repairing or replacing components as needed. An essential element of the role is ensuring detailed records of the work on each vehicle is recorded.
Role specific duties:
- perform minor and major repairs on heavy vehicles within allocated timeframes to a high standard (eliminate warranty work or comebacks)
- determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts
- correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems; making adjustments and alignments.
- verify vehicle performance; adjusting controls and systems
- comply with federal and state vehicle requirements and standards with work performed
- maintain vehicle records by annotating work carried out
- keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshoot breakdowns; maintain supplies; perform preventive maintenance; call for repairs where appropriate
- update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical and regulation publications
- quality control of each job including final inspection with manager
- checklist completion for all work at the end of the job to be stored in Ibody
- documenting additional work completed and highlighting any work that has not been provided for
- if apprentices are employed, provide advice and guidance
- perform maintenance tasks on equipment as required
- manage and provide a clean workspace
Experience, Qualifications and Skills required:
- Relevant trade qualification
- Up-todate valid licences (car, truck, forklift)
- Experience in heavy vehicle repair
