About the Role

Nepean Hospital seeks Consultant Psychiatrists to join the Child, Youth and Family Mental Health (CYF-MH) stream. Positions are based in the Nepean Adolescent Mental Health Unit (NAMHU), a purpose-built facility for youth aged 12–17.

Key Responsibilities:

• Psychiatric assessment and treatment for youth with complex needs

• Inclusive, trauma-informed support for families and care networks

• Leadership in clinical decision-making and service development

• Registrar supervision and medical student education

• Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, including lived experience and Aboriginal staff

About the Service

NAMHU is a 10-bed inpatient unit co-located with Nepean Mental Health Centre. Co-designed with input from youth, carers, and clinicians, it’s part of NSW’s $700M Statewide Mental Health Infrastructure Program.
