Software Engineer

As a Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, testing and maintaining software applications that support the business operations of Steel Cap Commercials and its group entities. Working within a collaborative, agile environment, you will contribute across the full software development lifecycle — from requirements analysis through to deployment and ongoing support.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and deploy robust software solutions based on business specifications and functional requirements

• Build and maintain web applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and supporting frameworks (React, Vue, Bootstrap)

• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate with third-party services and platforms

• Write clean, well-documented and maintainable code across front-end and back-end systems

• Develop and manage back-end logic and database structures using Python and SQL

• Conduct unit tests, integration tests and regression tests to ensure software quality and reliability

• Identify, document, triage and resolve bugs and performance issues in a timely manner

• Deploy, monitor and maintain applications on Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure

• Operate within an Agile/Scrum framework — sprint planning, stand-ups and retrospectives

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into clear technical specifications

Skills Required

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline

• 3–5 years of demonstrated experience in a software engineering or development role

• Proficient in front-end development — HTML, CSS, JavaScript and at least one modern framework (React, Vue or Bootstrap)

• Solid back-end development skills including Python and SQL/RDBMS

• Hands-on experience with REST API development and third-party integration

• Practical experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines

• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure

• Familiarity with version control using GitHub and project management tools such as Trello

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
