GYC is the major outdoor power equipment dealer selling and servicing TORO product in Metropolitan Sydney and has a national distributor agreement with Honda Australia. GYC are industry leaders and a very trusted retailer held in high regard by all of our suppliers.

We require services of a qualified and Small Engine Mechanic.

Main Skills:

Maintaining, testing and repairing engines of chainsaws, lawn mowers, garden tractors ride-on mowers and other equipment with small engines

·Primary role is to carry out customer equipment repairs and servicing.

·Ensure clear understanding of work required prior to commencing repairs.

·Use skills/expertise to diagnose faults and repair

·Ensure customer instructions/quote requirements are adhered to

·Ensure all required parts are ordered promptly

·Strive to achieve personal budgets/outputs to acceptable productivity levels.

·Liaise with workshop coordinator to communicate additional work required to the customer.

·Report on the job card any additional work needed but not authorized by the customer.

·Ensure the equipment is returned to the customer in a clean condition after repairing or servicing.

·Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and checking parts

·Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components, and referring to service manuals as needed

·Performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of outdoor power equipment

·Reassembling engines and parts after being repaired

·Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance

·Carry out repairs and servicing to the highest of professional standards with emphasis on fixing the equipment properly the first time.

·Diagnosing and testing parts

Qualifications and experience:

1AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or at least three years relevant small engine service experience.

2Two-four years additional relevant work experience to qualifications.

9Use safe manual handling techniques, practice safe work habits by abiding by the GYC Health and Safety polices. Wear protective clothing where necessary and take a consultative role in assisting and maintaining a clean, tidy work area and a health and safe working environment.

10Report any health or safety hazards via the Hazard Reporting Form (found on the Intranet under Office Forms – Risk Management Reporting).

11Report and incidents / accidents via the Incident Reporting Form (found on the Intranet under Office Forms – Register of Near Miss or Accident).

12Ensure all equipment is kept in good working order and used only for the purpose for which it was intended. Report all broken or damaged company property.

13Be fully conversant with emergency procedures.

14Take responsibility to ensure that decisions made do not put the Company in a liable situation.

15When handling money abide by the cash handling procedure

16Take responsibility to ensure all required tasks are completed accurately and within given time frames.

17Participate in scheduled training and development programs.

18Follow Company procedures with respect to grooming, performance and conduct standards, work health & safety, emergency procedures and other Company policies and procedures as detail on the Intranet.

Package:

·Full-time;

·40 hours per week (additional hours as reasonably required);

·Base Salary is $80,000 pa
