Are you a civil engineering professional ready to deliver meaningful infrastructure across the Northern Territory?

The Department of Logistics and Infrastructure is seeking motivated Project Managers and Senior Project Managers to join the Civil Construction – Bridges team. These roles provide the opportunity to manage and deliver bridge capital works, minor new works, and maintenance projects that support safe, reliable transport networks across the Territory.

About the Role

Project Manager – Bridges (P2)

Manage the delivery of non-complex bridge and civil infrastructure projects, supporting the planning, design, construction and maintenance of bridge assets across the Northern Territory.

Senior Project Manager – Bridges (P3)

Lead and manage complex and non-complex bridge projects, providing high level project, contract and stakeholder management expertise to ensure successful delivery of capital works and maintenance programs.

Both roles operate within a multidisciplinary team delivering bridge infrastructure in remote, regional and urban environments.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Deliver bridge capital works, minor new works and maintenance projects from planning through to completion
  2. Manage all project phases including investigation, design development, procurement and construction
  3. Undertake Superintendent’s Representative duties for construction contracts and manage design consultants
  4. Ensure projects achieve agreed time, cost, quality and safety outcomes
  5. Apply sound contract management and procurement practices in line with legislation and departmental policies
  6. Build effective working relationships with stakeholders, contractors and consultants
  7. Prepare clear technical advice, reports, briefings and contractual correspondence
  8. Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental and legislative requirements

About You

You will bring qualifications in Civil Engineering (or a related discipline) and eligibility for professional registration, along with experience appropriate to the level of the role.

To succeed at P2, you will have:

  1. Professional knowledge of bridge and civil design, construction and maintenance practices
  2. Experience supporting project and contract management activities
  3. Sound communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  4. The ability to work effectively in a team environment and with diverse stakeholders

To succeed at P3, you will also demonstrate:

  1. High level project and contract management experience
  2. Proven capability managing complex civil bridge projects
  3. Experience in negotiation, influencing and dispute resolution
  4. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including briefings and submissions

The Work Environment

These roles involve travel across the Northern Territory, including to remote locations. A current driver’s licence is required, and travel may include 4WD and light aircraft.
