Join Queensland Corrective Services at Maryborough Correctional Centre on a temporary, part time contract. This Centre, located about seven kilometres north of Maryborough, is a multi-purpose, secure custody facility, that provides secure and residential accommodation. The centre provides a range of programs and educational courses designed to assist prisoners with their rehabilitation and reintegration.

Queensland Corrective Services (QCS) is transforming its mental health services and is expanding its psychology leadership workforce to include experienced social workers and occupational therapists and the Senior Mental Health Clinician role is newly created to provide high-level clinical services within a multi-disciplinary team.

As a Senior Metal Health Clinician, your role will be to:

  1. Provide mental health services that promote well-being and safety, and where you can make a real difference to improving rehabilitation and post-release outcomes.
  2. Provide mentoring and supervising other clinicians
  3. Apply your advanced clinical expertise to support other clinicians with the management of complex cases and situations.
  4. Assist the Mental Health Team Leader to contribute to team performance, capability learning, and onboarding and retention.
  5. Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to support rehabilitation and safety

The following mandatory requirements apply to this role:

For Psychologists:

  1. The possession of a tertiary degree qualification in Psychology or Behavioural Science from a recognised tertiary institution and full general registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA).

For Social Workers:

  1. The possession of a tertiary degree qualification accredited by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Eligibility for membership of the Australian AASW is mandatory. Eligibility is dependent on the candidate having completed a tertiary degree qualification accredited by the AASW and the candidate does not have any other outstanding professional competency or ethical issues, or complaints known to the AASW which may preclude membership to the association.

For Occupational Therapists:

  1. The possession of a tertiary degree qualification in Occupational Therapy from a recognised tertiary institution and registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (AHPRA).
