Senior Architect with strong documentation for Class 2 Housing Projects - ArchiCAD

Join an emerging Sydney architecture studio working on a diverse portfolio of housing projects across multiple scales and delivery stages. This studio is seeking a Senior Architect / Project Lead to play a key role in delivering high-quality documentation and supporting the leadership of major residential projects currently in construction and planning phases. This role is ideal for an experienced architect who enjoys taking ownership of project delivery, has a strong documentation background, and can operate with a high level of autonomy while supporting the Associate in overseeing multiple live projects. With multiple live projects across stages, this position offers the opportunity to work on significant housing developments, including projects of 200+ units, within a collaborative and design-focused studio environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Director and Associates on large-scale residential projects, including developments of up to 200 apartments

• Lead projects or packages across multiple stages including design development, documentation, approvals and construction

• Deliver high-quality documentation with strong attention to detail and coordination

• Manage project timelines, deliverables and coordination with internal teams

• Coordinate effectively with consultants, contractors and suppliers

• Prepare and oversee planning submissions, council approvals and building documentation

• Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and resolve issues

• Identify risks related to design, planning approvals, scope or client requirements

• Maintain clear communication with clients, consultants and internal project teams

• Contribute to improving documentation standards and overall project quality across the studio

Skills and experience

• Degree in Architecture or equivalent qualification

• Approximately 7-10+ years of professional architectural experience, ideally within Australian practice

• Proven experience delivering multi-residential or large-scale housing projects

• Strong understanding of local planning controls, building codes and construction methods

• Demonstrated ability to manage projects or significant packages with minimal supervision

• Advanced Archicad proficiency and strong documentation capability

• Excellent consultant coordination and communication skills

• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

• A portfolio demonstrating strong documentation, delivery and built outcomes
