The Queensland Revenue Office is seeking applications to fill a permanent AO5 Review Officer role.

As the Review Officer, you will apply solid judgement, analysis, decision making and technical writing skills to assist with determining objection matters and managing review applications to the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT) and appeals to the Supreme Court.

The role is based in the Queensland Revenue Office's (QRO) Review and Dispute Resolution division which is responsible for determining objections to assessments and other reviewable decisions, litigation functions and coordinating document requests.

Based in our convenient and modern Brisbane CBD office, with flexible work options available and access to professional growth pathways.

Your typical day as a Review Officer may include:

  1. Preparing objection decisions.
  2. Triaging and reviewing new objections, internal communications or updates from stakeholders.
  3. Liaising with taxpayers about their objection to ensure they receive a consistent and fair outcome to their dispute.
  4. Conducting research on legislation, case law, published rulings and internal practices.
  5. Providing feedback and guidance within Review and Dispute Resolution and across QRO to improve administrative decision making.

To be successful, you will need to demonstrate:

  1. High level of experience in statutory interpretation.
  2. High level of technical writing skills.
  3. Impeccable interpersonal skills.
