With steady operations at our current store and plans for brand expansion, we are seeking an experienced Retail Manager. The role will involve overseeing existing operations and supporting the opening of new locations.

About the Role

As an experienced Retail Manager, you will lead daily operations, motivate and manage your team, deliver exceptional customer service, and play a key role in scaling our brand across Melbourne. You will be directly involved in opening new stores, building operational systems, and shaping the growth of our fast-growing Chinese takeaway business. This is a rare opportunity to step into a multi-site leadership role and make a tangible impact on the brand’s expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee and optimise daily store operations to ensure efficiency, consistency, and excellent customer service
  2. Lead, train, and develop staff, including rostering, performance management, and fostering a strong team culture
  3. Drive sales growth through effective merchandising and local store marketing initiatives
  4. Monitor and analyse key business metrics (sales, labour costs, food costs, waste, and profitability) and take corrective actions
  5. Manage inventory, stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships to minimise costs and waste
  6. Develop, implement, and continuously improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support scalability and operational consistency
  7. Establish systems and workflows that can be replicated across multiple store locations
  8. Ensure full compliance with Australian food safety standards, workplace health & safety (WHS), and relevant regulations
  9. Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation at all times
  10. Support business expansion by participating in new store planning, set-up, and opening processes
  11. Assist in site selection and feedback, store layout optimisation, and operational readiness for new locations
  12. Deliver an excellent customer experience by handling feedback, resolving complaints, and maintaining strong community engagement
  13. Contribute to brand building and continuous improvement of products and service quality

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Minimum 5 years of experience as a Retail Manager
  2. Experience in multi-site management or new store openings highly regarded
  3. Should have a diploma or higher qualification
  4. Strong leadership and team development skills
  5. Commercial mindset with ability to manage costs and drive revenue
  6. Experience building systems and processes (SOPs)
  7. Fluency in English and Mandarin is highly preferred to effectively lead our team and communicate with our diverse customer base.
  8. Passion for food, customer service, and business growth
