Position: Retail Manager

Salary: AUD 77,000 to 80,000 + Super

Minimum Requirements

  1. AQF associate degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in the relevant field with at least 1+ years' experience in a similar role

Roles and responsibilities:

  1. Oversee daily operations of the convenience store and café to ensure smooth and efficient functioning.
  2. Monitor fuel and retail stock levels, place timely orders, receive deliveries, and maintain organised inventory systems.
  3. Develop clear operational guidelines to streamline workflows and define roles between store and café teams.
  4. Increase sales through in-store promotions and by maintaining a clean, attractive customer environment.
  5. Lead and support staff by preparing rosters, onboarding new hires, and delivering training to improve performance.
  6. Conduct regular team meetings and individual check-ins, and provide updates to the directors.
  7. Ensure the store meets WHS and food safety requirements, maintaining a clean and compliant environment.
  8. Prepare for and successfully pass 6-monthly council inspections by resolving any issues promptly.
  9. Oversee fire safety inspections every six months and address any concerns without delay.
  10. Handle customer service professionally, resolving complaints efficiently and respectfully.
  11. Manage customer complaints from the ExxonMobil portal, including communication, meetings, and resolution planning.
  12. Track sales performance and assist in preparing monthly operational and financial reports.
  13. Meet regularly with suppliers and their representatives to build strong relationships and manage orders and ensure consistent product quality and availability.
  14. Perform banking duties, including depositing cash and cheques and arranging change for tills.

Key Skills & Attributes:

  1. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  2. Proven ability to lead, recruit, motivate, manage, and develop a large store team.
  3. Proven ability to achieve sales, wages & stock loss targets
  4. Demonstrated skills in stock management
  5. A drive to achieve store sales budgets
  6. An eye for attention to detail and high visual merchandising standards.
