The Production Planning Manager is responsible for forecasting, planning, coordinating, and scheduling all production activities within our QAD ERP environment to ensure efficient utilisation of resources, achievement of production targets, and on-time delivery of customer's Macadamia orders. Positioned between the Operations Manager and Production Manager, this Monday-Friday role plays a key part in aligning production capacity with sales demand, optimising workflow, and driving continuous improvement across the facility through the use of our QAD, ERP system.

The role requires strong analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments to balance operational efficiency, product quality, and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

Further, the Production Planning Manager will work closely with the Finance Team to provide assistance and development of regular reporting of budgets/forecasts, key operational performance indicators and process improvements in accordance with business requirements.

Essential Criteria, Skills & Experience

  1. Minimum 5 years’ experience in production planning, scheduling, or manufacturing operations, preferably within the food or FMCG sector.
  2. Strong understanding of production processes, materials flow, and manufacturing principles.
  3. Proven ability to plan and manage production schedules in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  4. Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems essential (experience with QAD highly regarded).
  5. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  6. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with experience collaborating across departments.
  7. Demonstrated project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  8. Knowledge of HACCP, food safety standards, and WHS requirements in a manufacturing setting.
  9. Commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Desirable Criteria

  1. Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Production Management, or related discipline.
  2. Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
  3. Experience in nut processing, snack food, or similar production environments.
