Are you an experienced Physiotherapist with a commitment to interdisciplinary hospital teamwork and an interest in delivering excellent clinical services related to assessment, treatment, planning and evidence based practice?

We are seeking an experienced HP3 Physiotherapist to undertake a role within the Allied Health team at Sunnybank Private Hospital. We are looking at a fixed term (maternity relief) role commencing start of May 2026 to end of October 2026 in order to assist with physiotherapy service provision to patients. There may be opportunities to extend longer or convert to a permeant position towards the end of the fixed term. Experience with hospital work is recommended as autonomy and excellent clinical skills and knowledge of hospital patient conditions is required. The position is predominantly servicing the acute wards at Sunnybank Private however opportunities may arise to work in other areas eg Rehabilitation or other hospitals within the Healthscope group.

As a Physiotherapist your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide comprehensive Physiotherapy services to varied diagnostic groups
  • Assist with the treatment of acute inpatients of the medical, surgical and CCU wards or on the rehabilitation ward
  • Maximise the performance of patients, adopting a client-centred and goal directed approach
  • Participate in program development and quality improvement activities within the allied health department and hospital
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and professional development programs
  • Providing support to other Physiotherapists and/or students
  • Have opportunities for both weekday and weekend cover roles

Selection Criteria: 

  • Bachelor in Physiotherapy or equivalent
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
  • Excellent clinical practice skills
  • Well-developed communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisation, time management and self-management skills
  • Autonomy in work practice
  • Current drivers licence
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to interdisciplinary teamwork
  • Availability for Monday to Friday weekday work
  • Opportunities for intermittent weekend work
  • Ability to supervise physiotherapy students

Previous hospital experience is recommended. Applicants need to have skills with management of acute and subacute neurological, orthopaedic and reconditioning/restorative patients. ICU/CCU experience is favourable including the management of ventilated patients. Ability to conduct vestibular assessment and treatment is encouraged. Whilst this is currently offered as a part-time position, the days required are across Monday to Friday.
