The Flour House is seeking a skilled and passionate Pastry Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a love for baking, strong attention to detail, and the ability to produce high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Prepare, bake, and finish a range of pastries, cakes, desserts, breads, and other baked items
  2. Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards consistently
  3. Assist with decorating and plating pastries and desserts
  4. Ensure all products are fresh, of high quality, and produced on time
  5. Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering ingredients and supplies
  6. Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic work area at all times
  7. Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety procedures
  8. Work closely with the kitchen team to support daily operations and service periods
  9. Assist with new menu items and seasonal pastry offerings where required

Skills and Experience

  1. Previous experience as a Pastry Cook, Baker, or similar role
  2. Relevant culinary or pastry qualifications are a must with Knowledge of pastry preparation, baking techniques, and dessert production- minimum of Certificate 3 - certificate 4 in patisserie preferred.
  3. Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment
  4. Strong attention to detail and presentation
  5. Good time management and organisational skills
  6. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  7. Understanding of food safety standards and kitchen hygiene practices
