Key Responsibilities
- Erect scaffolding and ladders and place drop sheets to protect surfaces and surroundings from paint splatter.
- Prepare surfaces by scraping off old paint or wallpaper, repairing woodwork, filling holes and cracks, and sanding and sealing surfaces.
- Mix and prepare paints to specific colors and consistencies according to project requirements.
- Apply paint, varnish and stains using brushes, rollers or spray equipment for interior and exterior surfaces.
- Hang wallpaper and match patterns where required.
- Clean tools, equipment and work areas after completion of work.
- Perform minor repairs including window and frame maintenance where required.
- Lay or repair wall and floor tiles if required.
Qualifications / Criteria
- Minimum 1 year of proven experience as a professional painter.
- Certificate III in Painting and Decorating.
- Strong understanding of modern painting methods, materials and tools.
- Ability to mix paints accurately and achieve consistent finishes.
- Knowledge of safety protocols relevant to painting and decorating works.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work at heights when required.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality outcomes.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transport.
