Job Description:

The Painting Trades Worker is responsible for preparing and finishing interior and exterior surfaces on residential and commercial projects. The role involves surface preparation, application of coatings, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment, in accordance with project requirements and Australian safety standards.

Daily tasks include:

1. Preparing work areas and surfaces for painting, including setting up access equipment, protecting surrounding areas, cleaning and repairing surface imperfections;

2. Mixing and preparing paints and coatings to required colours and finishes, ensuring

consistency and suitability for each surface;

3. Paint the surfaces with rollers, brush or spray guns;

4. Cleaning work area and equipment;

5. Installing and finishing wall coverings where required, ensuring accurate alignment, clean edges, and quality presentation.

Requirements:

1) AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV. At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above.

2) At least one year of work experience required.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to achieve high-quality finishes

- Knowledge of surface preparation techniques and paint application methods

- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and spraying equipment safely and effectively

- Time management skills to meet project deadlines

Annual salary: $76515 + superannuation (40 hours per week)
