Position: Full-time

Fresh Coat Painting VIC Pty Ltd is a well-established painting and repair service provider for commercial and residential buildings. We provide painting, decorating, and repair services to our clients. We are looking for experienced and skilled painter to join our team.

To be considered for this role you must have:

1. Certificate III/IV in Painting and Decorating or equivalent
2. Minimum 1 year of prior industry experience
3. You must be Australian Citizen/ Permanent Resident or have proper working rights in Australia

Main tasks

1. Select the correct tools and paints for projects.
2. Prepare and prime surfaces for painting, ensuring high-quality finishes.
3. Mix, match, and apply paint, varnish, shellac, enamel, and other finishes.
4. Scrape, sandpaper, prime, or seal surfaces prior to painting.
5. Clean walls to ensure proper adherence.
6. Calculate amounts of required materials and estimate costs.
7. Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives.
8. Erect scaffolding, movable and immovable staging and various rigging to gain access to difficult areas; moves furniture and equipment as necessary.
9. Remove fixtures such as pictures, doorknobs, lamps, and electric switch covers prior to painting.
10. Apply several coats according to paint directions.
11. Tape off areas when needed.
12. Apply touch-ups or second coats.
13. Remove paint splatters when finished.
14. Clean up all equipment, including brushes and spray guns.
15. Utilize spray guns for large jobs.
16. Work on ladders to reach high ceilings or walls.
17. Spray painting where necessary for desired outcome
18. Membrane and waterproofing coatings to provide a barrier against humidity or corrosion
19. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly cared for.
20. Work effectively within a team, contributing to a positive and collaborative atmosphere.
