Painter

The team at Southbourne Homes Pty Ltd in Preston are looking for a full-time qualified Painter to join the team.

Certificate III in Painting and Decorating and 3 years of work experience required.

Salary: $80,000 - $85,000

Duties:

1. Prepare surfaces by removing old paint, filling holes and cracks, and covering surrounding areas with drop cloths or masking tape to protect surfaces
2. Select and mix paints and stains to achieve the desired colour and texture
3. Apply paint, varnish, wallpaper and other finishes using brushes, rollers, sprayers or other tools
4. Smooth and sand surfaces between coats of paint or varnish and inspect finished work to ensure quality and adherence to specifications
5. Collaborate with clients to determine suitable colour schemes and finishes
6. Estimate materials and labour required for painting projects
7. Maintain painting equipment and ensure work areas remain clean and safe
