We are currently seeking an experienced Trade Based Operator/Maintainer (Mechanical or Electrical) to join our plant maintenance team.

The Plant Operators and Maintainers duties may include:

  1. Repairing, calibration and operation of a variety of Plasser and Theurer On Track Machine (OTMs)
  2. Have a good understanding of general hydraulics, pneumatics, electrics and control systems
  3. Be able to navigate and read simple hydraulic and electrical schematics
  4. Carry out regular preventative & corrective maintenance, repairs and major overhaul works to ensure maximum equipment availability.
  5. Perform tasks safely in accordance Swietelsky and the WH&S Act requirements
  6. Work effectively and efficiently on major maintenance and construction projects
  7. Work independently and as part of a team in both operations and maintenance activities.

Essential Criteria:

  1. Mechanical or Electrical trade base.
  2. Previous experience operating and maintaining Plasser & Theurer track machines including Ballast Cleaners and Material Handling Wagons
  3. Be willing and able to adapt and learn new skills to keep up with evolving technologies and procedures for track & mechanised maintenance
  4. Strong commitment to safety & Zero Harm
  5. Good communication skills
  6. Valid C Class Clean Drivers Licence
  7. Ability to work cohesively in a small team
  8. Ability to work weekends and nights if required
  9. Ability to travel/work away from home when required
  10. Ability to pass pre-employment checks including CAT1 rail medical is a must.

Desirble Criteria:

·Previous experience and qualifications for operational training and assessing for On Track Maintenance Machines (OTM’s).

·5+ years of experience operating and maintaining Plasser & Theurer track. machines including Ballast Cleaners and Material Handling Wagons.

Additional information

The position will be based out of our Telarah office with travel required for projects, throughout the Australian Railway networks.

The position will be subject to SRA employment conditions and supporting conditions in accordance with the Rail Industry Award.
