Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and identify mechanical and electrical faults across Sunrise Adelaide Transport’s vehicle fleet
- Carry out repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, suspension, steering, and braking systems to ensure fleet reliability
- Strip down engines and components for inspection and repair
- Rebuild engines and refit mechanical components following repair to restore optimal performance
- Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance to minimise downtime and support operational schedules
- Use diagnostic equipment and computer-based tools to assess and troubleshoot faults efficiently
- Test and adjust vehicles after repairs to ensure safe operation and readiness for daily transport activities
- Maintain accurate service records in line with company and regulatory requirements
- Respond to vehicle breakdowns and carry out urgent repairs to reduce disruption to deliveries and transport operations
- Assist in ensuring all vehicles meet roadworthiness and safety standards, including identifying any additional work required for compliance
Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant qualifications in Automotive Mechanical Technology or a closely related field
- In the absence of formal qualifications, at least three years of relevant full-time work experience as a Motor Mechanic may be considered
- Demonstrated experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicle engines and mechanical systems, including both mechanical and electrical components
- Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and interpreting technical manuals to accurately identify faults and carry out repairs
- Sound understanding of servicing requirements, safety standards, and roadworthiness obligations, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
