The Role
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Motor Mechanic to join our team. This is a full-time position working in a fast-paced workshop environment, supporting a wide variety of vehicle servicing and repair work.
Key Responsibilities
·Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults across a range of vehicles using appropriate diagnostic tools and equipment
·Inspect vehicle systems and identify faults in engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, and related components
·Carry out repairs and replace worn or defective parts, ensuring all work is completed to manufacturer and safety standards
·Dismantle and reassemble engines and mechanical systems as required during repair processes
·Perform routine servicing including oil changes, lubrication, and general maintenance to ensure optimal vehicle performance
·Test and adjust repaired components to confirm functionality and reliability before handover
·Utilise computer-based diagnostic systems to assess faults and support repair decisions
·Conduct vehicle inspections and provide recommendations to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards
·Maintain accurate service records, including details of work performed and parts used
·Support workshop operations by maintaining a clean and safe work environment and adhering to workplace health and safety procedures
·Assist with urgent repairs or breakdown situations where required
Skills and Experience
- Relevant trade qualification such as Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology and Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis
- At least 1-2 years of relevant industry experience
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Experience working across a range of vehicle types, including modern and older models
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
