MOTOR MECHANIC

Rio Motors is a privately owned and locally operated motor vehicle dealership based in Windsor Gardens, South Australia. The business specialises in the purchase and sale of quality used motor vehicles, catering to a broad range of customers across the north-eastern suburbs and surrounding areas.

In addition to vehicle sales, Rio Motors operates an on-site mechanical workshop that provides repairs, servicing and maintenance for both its own vehicle inventory and vehicles owned by members of the public. The workshop delivers a range of services including routine maintenance, diagnostics and mechanical repairs, contributing to an ongoing stream of external customer work.

A significant portion of its clientele consists of repeat customers who return for both vehicle purchases and ongoing servicing needs.

We are currently looking for a full-time qualified / experienced motor mechanic for our workshop.

Salary $ 77,000 to $ 80,000 Per Year Plus Superannuation.

The Motor Mechanic will be responsible for carrying out a range of diagnostic, repair and maintenance tasks on light vehicles. The position duties include, but are not limited to:

1. Inspect vehicles to identify mechanical faults and determine repair requirements
2. Use computerised diagnostic equipment to identify issues in engine and vehicle systems
3. Diagnose faults in the mechanical systems of light vehicles
4. Repair or replace defective components, including engines, transmissions, steering and braking systems
5. Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, lubrication, filter replacement and engine tune-ups
6. Dismantle and reassemble mechanical components and assemblies as required
7. Test and adjust vehicle systems after repair to ensure proper performance
8. Conduct road tests to ensure vehicles meet safety and roadworthiness standards
9. Maintain accurate records of all servicing, repairs, parts and labour
10. Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements and workshop procedures

Skills and Qualifications:

• Vehicle Mechanical Trade Qualification (Certificate III/IV)

• Must have 1 to 2 years of work experience in a busy workshop.
