SkillQuest Solutions are seeking a qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic on behalf of our client, an established automotive repair and servicing workshop located in Dandenong South, Victoria.

This busy workshop provides a wide range of vehicle servicing and mechanical repair services to customers across the local community and surrounding areas. Equipped with modern diagnostic tools and workshop equipment, the business is known for delivering reliable vehicle maintenance, mechanical repairs and high-quality workmanship. The workshop is supported by a team of experienced technicians who work collaboratively to ensure vehicles are maintained to high safety and performance standards.

Position - Motor Mechanic (General)

Location – Dandenong South, Victoria 3175

Salary - $75,000 - $80,000 plus superannuation per annum

Employment Type - Full-time, Permanent

THE ROLE:

We are seeking a qualified Motor Mechanic who takes pride in delivering high-quality vehicle servicing and repair work. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing mechanical issues, performing repairs and ensuring vehicles operate safely and efficiently.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

· Conduct vehicle inspections and scheduled servicing in accordance with manufacturer and industry standards, maintaining accurate service records.

· Perform routine and preventive maintenance, including oil and filter changes, brake servicing, suspension repairs, tyre fitting and wheel balancing.

· Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic tools and workshop equipment.

· Repair or replace worn or faulty components including engines, transmissions, steering systems and braking systems.

· Carry out mechanical repairs and adjustments to ensure vehicles meet safety and operational requirements.

· Test and road-test vehicles after servicing and repairs to confirm issues have been resolved.

· Maintain workshop tools and equipment, ensuring proper operation, routine maintenance and safe storage.

· Follow workplace health and safety procedures, including safe handling of tools, equipment and automotive materials.

· Communicate with workshop staff, management and customers regarding vehicle diagnostics, required repairs and completion of work.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

· Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis (or agreed equivalent).

· Minimum of 1 year (preferably more) post training experience working as a Motor Mechanic in an automotive workshop environment.

· Demonstrated ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical vehicle faults.

· Sound knowledge of automotive systems, workshop tools and diagnostic equipment.

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality workmanship.

· Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

· Good organisational and time management skills.

· Current Full Australian driver’s licence - ESSENTIAL.

· You must have unrestricted working rights to work full time in Australia to be eligible for consideration.
