About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Motel Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of Colonial Motor Inn. This role sits under ANZSCO Code ****** – Hotel or Motel Manager, and is a hands-on leadership position responsible for ensuring smooth operations, exceptional guest experiences, and the effective management of staff and resources. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all daily operations of the motel including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and food and beverage services
- Ensure consistently high standards of guest service, comfort, and satisfaction
- Manage reservations, room allocations, check-ins, and check-outs efficiently
- Recruit, train, supervise, and performance-manage motel staff
- Prepare and manage operational budgets, control costs, and maximise revenue
- Handle guest enquiries, feedback, and complaints in a professional and timely manner
- Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and service providers to maintain the property and facilities
- Monitor and manage online booking platforms, reviews, and occupancy rates
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and licensing regulations
- Prepare operational reports and financial summaries for ownership and management review
- Implement strategies to improve occupancy rates, guest satisfaction, and overall profitability
Required Qualifications
- Certificate III or IV in Hospitality or Hotel Management (minimum requirement)
- Diploma of Hospitality Management or equivalent (highly regarded)
- Relevant degree in Hospitality, Business, or Tourism Management will be an advantage
- Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate — NSW
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a motel, hotel, or hospitality management role
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide staff
- Excellent customer service skills with a genuine passion for guest satisfaction
- Sound financial acumen including budgeting, cost control, and revenue management
- Proficiency in property management systems (PMS) and online booking platforms
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution abilities
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster including weekends, evenings, and public holidays
- Knowledge of WHS obligations and relevant accommodation industry regulations
- Experience in a regional or country hospitality setting will be highly regarded
