About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Motel Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of Colonial Motor Inn. This role sits under ANZSCO Code ****** – Hotel or Motel Manager, and is a hands-on leadership position responsible for ensuring smooth operations, exceptional guest experiences, and the effective management of staff and resources. Key Responsibilities

  1. Oversee all daily operations of the motel including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and food and beverage services
  2. Ensure consistently high standards of guest service, comfort, and satisfaction
  3. Manage reservations, room allocations, check-ins, and check-outs efficiently
  4. Recruit, train, supervise, and performance-manage motel staff
  5. Prepare and manage operational budgets, control costs, and maximise revenue
  6. Handle guest enquiries, feedback, and complaints in a professional and timely manner
  7. Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and service providers to maintain the property and facilities
  8. Monitor and manage online booking platforms, reviews, and occupancy rates
  9. Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and licensing regulations
  10. Prepare operational reports and financial summaries for ownership and management review
  11. Implement strategies to improve occupancy rates, guest satisfaction, and overall profitability

Required Qualifications

  1. Certificate III or IV in Hospitality or Hotel Management (minimum requirement)
  2. Diploma of Hospitality Management or equivalent (highly regarded)
  3. Relevant degree in Hospitality, Business, or Tourism Management will be an advantage
  4. Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate — NSW

Skills & Experience

  1. Minimum 1 year of experience in a motel, hotel, or hospitality management role
  2. Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide staff
  3. Excellent customer service skills with a genuine passion for guest satisfaction
  4. Sound financial acumen including budgeting, cost control, and revenue management
  5. Proficiency in property management systems (PMS) and online booking platforms
  6. Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution abilities
  7. Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  8. Flexibility to work a rotating roster including weekends, evenings, and public holidays
  9. Knowledge of WHS obligations and relevant accommodation industry regulations
  10. Experience in a regional or country hospitality setting will be highly regarded
