About the Company: B Plastics Australia Pty Ltd is a Sydney-based engineering plastics supplier and fabrication specialist located in Blacktown, Western Sydney. The company provides premium thermoplastics, precision machining, and custom-manufactured components for industries including automotive, food processing, packaging, mining, water treatment and manufacturing.

With decades of industry experience, B Plastics offers services such as custom fabrication, reverse engineering of OEM parts, and machining of engineering plastics including nylon, PEEK, PTFE, HDPE, and polycarbonate.

Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled Metal Machinist to join our workshop team in Blacktown. The successful candidate will operate machining equipment to produce precision components used in industrial plastic engineering applications and custom machinery parts.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Analyzing engineering drawings and specifications to determine appropriate materials, machining methods, operational sequences, and machine settings.
2. Fitting fabricated metal parts into products and assembling metal parts and subassemblies to produce machines and equipment.
3. Checking fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance and fit using precision measuring instruments.
4. Setting guides, stops and other controls on machining tools, setting up prescribed cutting and shaping tools and dies in machines and presses.
5. Forming metal stock and castings to fine tolerances using machining tools to press, cut, grind, plane, bore and drill metal.
6. Diagnosing faults and performing operational maintenance of machines, and overhauling and repairing mechanical parts and fluid power equipment.
7. Performed thorough inspections of finished workpieces using precision measurement tools and gauges to verify conformity with engineering specifications.
8. Conducted surface and dimensional checks on all parts to ensure compliance with client requirements and industry standards.

Requirements:

1. Relevant Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Machining) or higher equivalent degree qualification including minimum 2–3 years experience in machining or manufacturing environment.
2. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
3. Experience with CNC machining and conventional workshop equipment.
4. Strong commitment to workplace safety.
