Position: Mechanical Engineering Technician

Location: 2.06 Building T2A, Breed Business Centre, Nirimba Education Precinct, Warawara CCT, Quakers Hill, 2763 NSW

Salary: $115 K - $120 K plus superannuation

SNG Engineering Pty Ltd is Sydney based water / waste-water management -engineering company, proficient in projects related to water main, storm water main, sewer main, water treatment plant, pump stations, sewerage treatment plant, car parks, bio-retention basins, mechanical work, PLC, SCADA, automation, switchboard, and more.

We are looking for Mechanical Technician with very high-level drafting experience in the above domains.

Minimum requirements:

1. Previous experience of 8-12 years working in a water and wastewater sector design / drawings executions

Key Responsibilities

1. Create CAD generated bill of materials for purchasing
2. Participate and make decisions for selection and procurement of correct moving parts, selection of piping materials and pipe qualification.
3. Estimating material costs and quantities, and machine requirements
4. Performing and directing field and laboratory tests
5. Collecting and analysing data, carrying out complex computations and preparing diagrams
6. Produce concept designs through to detailed workshop drawings for manufacture.
7. Prepare various Skid designs to suit mechanical equipment.
8. Prepare alternative designs to provide option to client.
9. Preparing drawings, plans and designs for mechanical engineering work
10. Perform hands-on testing, installation, and assembly of mechanical systems, components, and equipment.
11. Assist engineers in the design, development, and improvement of mechanical systems and prototypes.
12. Organising and supervising inspection and maintenance of machines and plant
13. Ensuring that designs and finished work are within specifications, regulations, and contract provisions

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

1. You will be required demonstrate high degree of understanding of water and wastewater equipment, process and Electrical trades understanding.
2. You are expected to know General Process Flow in water and wastewater industry.
3. High degree of drafting skills is required
4. High degree of computer skills in MS office, AutoCAD Civil 2D / 3D, BIM management, Revit, Inventor, Plant 3D and Analysis is required.
5. Six sigma, SAP or similar additional courses and certificates is not necessary but beneficial.
6. Understand and thrive in a high compliance, process driven environment.
7. Design Drawings/ execution is mandatory.
8. Past Australian experience is an advantage
9. Past North American work experience is an advantage
