Bring Activities to Life and Strengthen Community Connection

BRAMS is seeking a full-time Lifestyle Coordinator (Community Activities and Respite) based in Broome, WA. Internally, this role is referred to as the Community Activities and Respite Coordinator.

In this hands-on role, you will plan and deliver activities, outings, and respite services for people receiving aged care and NDIS support, particularly older people, helping them stay active, connected, and engaged in their community.

You will be out in the community building relationships, organising programs, and ensuring everything is well planned, culturally appropriate, and runs smoothly.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Planning and coordinating social activities, outings, and group programs for clients
  2. Engaging with clients to understand their interests and preferences
  3. Supporting culturally appropriate and community-driven activities
  4. Coordinating logistics, schedules, and resources for activities
  5. Building strong relationships with clients, families, and the local community
  6. Ensuring activities are well-organised, safe, and enjoyable

Bring Your Organisation, Energy, and People Skills

You will bring experience in coordinating activities, community programs, or working in aged care, disability, or community services.

You may have worked in roles such as Activities Coordinator, Community Worker, Support Worker, or in a similar position where you have supported people through programs, events, or services.

A qualification in community services, disability, aged care, recreation, or a related field will be well regarded, but is not essential.

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  1. Strong organisational skills and the ability to plan and coordinate activities ahead of time
  2. Familiarity with the local community or ability to quickly build strong local connections
  3. Confidence in engaging with people and building genuine relationships
  4. A patient, respectful, and approachable manner when working with others
  5. Ability to work with a range of personalities and support diverse needs
  6. A proactive, hands-on approach to getting things organised and delivered
  7. Good communication and teamwork skills
  8. Understanding of culturally safe practices and working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
