The Pacific Islands Forum Fisheries Agency (FFA) is an intergovernmental organisation dedicated to strengthening national capacity and regional solidarity so Pacific nations can manage, control, and develop their tuna fisheries now and into the future.
Headquartered in Honiara, Solomon Islands, FFA’s 17 member countries are Australia, Cook Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, New Zealand, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.

About the Opportunity
The Pacific Islands Forum Fisheries Agency is looking for a full-time Legal Counsel based in Honiara, Solomon Islands.
Reporting to the Director-General and Deputy Director-General, this role is responsible for delivering strategic legal advice, leading the Legal Unit, and supporting member countries on international fisheries law and governance.

What You Will Bring
To qualify, you will need a Master of Laws (LLM) specialising in international fisheries law (or equivalent). A minimum of 8 years’ experience providing legal advice on fisheries within a government department or regional fisheries organisation, including at least 3 years in a managerial role, will also be essential.
