Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain secure data structures, system architecture and naming conventions to ensure the integrity, accuracy and protection of organisational data.
- Establish and manage backup systems, recovery processes and preventative maintenance procedures to ensure business continuity and protect critical information assets.
- Develop and maintain ICT security documentation, policies and operational procedures to support the secure management of systems and data.
- Test system upgrades, patches and infrastructure changes to identify vulnerabilities, log issues and resolve security or performance risks in accordance with internal testing procedures.
- Manage operational processes relating to system security and disaster recovery to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place against internal and external threats.
- Liaise with technology vendors and service providers to evaluate, implement and maintain cybersecurity tools and solutions, while monitoring service delivery and security performance.
- Investigate and resolve system, server and infrastructure-related issues affecting security, including diagnosing hardware and software faults across networks and workstations.
- Maintain security documentation, operational procedures and system logs to support compliance, auditing and incident management activities.
- Monitor the performance and security of networks and infrastructure to ensure systems operate securely and efficiently within the organisation’s IT environment.
- Review existing IT environments and recommend improvements to strengthen security architecture, infrastructure resilience and future network capability.
Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity or a related field. In the absence of a formal qualification, at least five years of relevant full-time work experience may substitute for the qualification.
- Demonstrated experience in ICT security, including implementing security controls, monitoring vulnerabilities and protecting systems from internal and external threats.
- Ability to investigate and resolve security incidents, system vulnerabilities and infrastructure-related technical issues.
- Experience working with cybersecurity tools, security monitoring systems and infrastructure protection technologies.
- Strong knowledge of ICT security policies, risk management practices and industry best practices for protecting organisational systems and data.
