About the position

We are hiring an experienced Head Chef to lead and elevate our culinary operations across a multi-faceted hospitality venue. This is a senior leadership role responsible for delivering exceptional dining experiences, driving operational excellence, and leading a high-performing kitchen team.

Reporting to senior management, the Head Chef will set the culinary vision, ensure consistency and quality across all food offerings, and play a key role in the ongoing evolution of the venue’s food and beverage.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Oversee daily kitchen operations to ensure smooth and efficient service
  2. Prepare and present dishes in line with established quality standards
  3. Support the development and refinement of menu offerings based on customer preferences
  4. Manage food preparation processes, portion control, and inventory rotation
  5. Ensure full compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations
  6. Supervise kitchen staff and maintain effective workflow and coordination
  7. Monitor food costs and implement measures to reduce waste
  8. Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic kitchen environment
  9. Stay up to date with industry trends and continuously improve kitchen processes and procedures
  10. Collaborate with the restaurant management team to ensure seamless operations and exceptional customer service

Required Skills & Experience:

  1. Comprehensive knowledge of commercial kitchen operations
  2. Ability to consistently prepare and present high-quality dishes
  3. Experience in menu planning, pricing, and food cost management
  4. Familiarity with food safety standards and HACCP compliance
  5. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, including canteen and bistro settings
  6. Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills
  7. Experience with multicultural cuisine is an advantage

Qualifications:

  1. Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
  2. Minimum of 2–3 years’ relevant industry experience
