Full Time Educator

We are currently seeking a Childcare Educator to join our team at Seeds Childcare and Early Learning Centres St James. The position is full time. For a successful candidate an annual salary of $75,000 to $80,000 + superannuation will be offered.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop, review, and implement age-appropriate programs for the children in care.
2. Maintain up to date and accurate records of individual children’s progress and observations.
3. Supervise activities and responsible for the welfare of all children in the designated room ensuring consistent, high-quality care.
4. Responsible for the creation of a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all children.
5. Delegate tasks and duties to childcare staff members who work in the childcare room.
6. Provide responsive care to the children based on their interests and needs.
7. To lead planning and the provision of a stimulating range of age-appropriate activities and ensuring the room is well-resourced and creatively set up.
8. Maintain ongoing communication with children’s parents and caregivers.
9. Collaborate with childcare staff and family to ensure that the program promotes children’s learning and is in accordance with the service philosophy and learning outcomes.
10. Build and maintain a strong relationship with the parents/carers that encourage trust and open communication.
11. Mentor, guide and support educators and other childcare staff to ensure their performance aligns with the centre’s values, policies, procedures, and outcomes.
12. Keep up to date with current information, curriculum and practices in early childhood education and provide this to other childcare staff.
13. Ensure compliance with establishment guidelines and OH&S policies to guarantee a safe environment for the children in care.

Skills and Experience

1. Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience
2. Hold relevant qualifications
