About the role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Chef to join our team at the Fat Elephant Thai restaurant in Canterbury, Sydney. This is a full-time role with a sponsorship opportunity for the right candidate. As Chef, you will be responsible to play a crucial role in creating and delivering delicious cuisine to our customers. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and skilled chef to showcase their talents in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  1. Cook, prepare, and serve food to the highest standards.
  2. Maintain food safety and hygienic regulations.
  3. Assist in training and mentoring junior staff
  4. Manage orders, keep an eye on ingredient levels, and reduce food waste.
  5. Work closely with other culinary departments to provide smooth service.

What we’re looking for:

  1. Qualification in Commercial Cookery
  2. One years or more of prior experience working as a chef
  3. Excellent understanding of culinary methods, food preparation, and presentation
  4. An enthusiasm for providing excellent meals and outstanding customer service
  5. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting
  6. Outstanding abilities in teamwork and communication
  7. Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
