One Sydney’s fastest Growing Equipment Hire companies is looking for a highly experienced Hire controller that can work with an existing team but also be highly organised and understands the importance of the movement of equipment throughout Newcastle. With over 800 units in NSW alone you will responsible for working with the operations manager and Branch Manager to provide support to all hire bookings.

Job Opportunity

We know how hard this role is and we are looking for someone very unique, this job is not for the faint hearted and needs a Senior professional / Hire controller. You will need to understand the importance of customer service but also can think on their feet, highly intelligent but understand when to stand up to customers and can coordinate each Hire to get the delivery completed on time and on the same day. This is No east task, with multiple parts of the business moving at any one time. Transport, service, clients, customers, management and the service department all knocking on your door at once or calling your work phone. We are looking for someone that can work under pressure and enjoys working through each task. Ticking all boxes and making sure each job is completed to best of your ability and to the standards of the business.

Below are your job responsibilities –

  1. Create and complete hire booking forms, ensuring all the required details have been completed including machine details, customer contact details and account status
  2. Create hire contracts ensuring contact details and site address are completed
  3. Allocate plant and head bracket numbers and details of accessories required
  4. Carry out Pre-Hire, allocate a technician and ensure the information given to the technician is correct, rechecking sizing of head-bracket and hose fittings are checked against our chart.
  5. Once Pre hire has been completed by the technician, check photos and technician notes to ensure asset number has not changed
  6. Ensure parts used on pre hire has been allocated to the job
  7. Send contracts to customers, ensure each contract sent is followed up with a phone call to confirm they have received the contract, confirm site address and contact details
  8. Ensure contracts are promptly signed and returned back before pick up or delivery takes place
  9. Ensure picking slip has the correct plant number, including grease, pins and key Allocate driver, yards person or external transport depending on the transport
  10. method required. For external transport, create and send purchase order to the vendor
  11. Update board and relevant spreadsheet each time a pickup/delivery or return takes place
  12. Take customer payments for COD customers on pickup
  13. Process returns in database and allocate return method (drop off to yard, pick up on-site or organise external transport)
  14. Complete hire contracts and process invoices
  15. Ensure all processes are ticked off the ‘Hire Booking Process’ Sheet as each task in the Booking Process gets completed. Sign off on the Hire Booking Sheet once all the processes are complete in acknowledgement. Scan and attach the completed Hire Booking Sheet to the contract in Database Systems. This must be done for each hire.
  16. Assist with weekly stock take on plant assets
  17. Update and communicate with service staff regarding any incoming or outgoing plant requiring repair/service

Candidates Requirements

  1. 3 + Years in Construction, Forklift or Truck Hire
  2. Are you and do you enjoy working under pressure?
  3. Highly Organised?
  4. Process and excellent attention to detail.
  5. Have you worked in Logistics, Transport, Rail, Construction Equipment, Hire, Or any type of high-volume equipment movement or operation?
  6. Can you keep calm and deal with all levels of the business at one time and still operate with a professional approach?

Salary Package
