Role Overview
This is a full-time leadership role responsible for overseeing financial operations, budgeting, reporting, compliance, and financial performance. The Finance Manager will ensure accuracy in financial reporting, effective resource allocation, and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, while supporting strategic decision-making. This role suits a commercially astute and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a dynamic and growth-focused organisational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the organisation’s financial operations, ensuring accurate financial management, reporting, and alignment with strategic business objectives.
- Develop, implement, and maintain financial policies, systems, and controls to ensure strong governance, operational efficiency, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Prepare, analyse, and present financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow forecasts, and budget performance for senior management decision-making.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes, ensuring effective allocation of resources and long-term financial sustainability.
- Monitor and control organisational expenditure, identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining operational effectiveness and financial discipline.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory, taxation, and financial reporting obligations, including coordination with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory authorities.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial data.
- Provide strategic financial advice to senior management, supporting business growth, investment decisions, and risk management initiatives.
- Maintain strong internal controls and risk management frameworks, safeguarding organisational assets and ensuring financial transparency and accountability.
- Lead and supervise finance staff, including performance management, training, and continuous improvement of financial processes and team capability.
Skills & Experience
- Proven 3 - 5 years of experience in financial management, accounting, or corporate finance within a structured organisational environment.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and multitasking abilities with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated experience in supervising finance teams and managing cross-functional financial operations.
- Extensive experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Proficiency in accounting and financial systems (e.g., MYOB, Xero, SAP, or similar ERP systems) is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations, taxation requirements, and compliance frameworks.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound financial judgement, and take ownership of financial outcomes.
