The Role

The acquisition of conventionally-armed, nuclear-powered submarines is an historic and transformative endeavour for Australia. The whole-of-nation effort to safely and securely deliver the cutting edge nuclear-powered submarine program will transform Australia’s economic and national security landscape for decades to come.

APS 4 Executive Assistant’s (EA) are responsible for providing executive support to Senior Executive Service Officers working within an integrated workforce.

APS 4 Executive Officer duties may include but are not limited to:

  1. Performing 'front of office' support functions including, management of incoming correspondence, appointments and coordination of meetings
  2. Utilising information available to prepare briefing packs, reports and papers.
  3. Organising own workflow, making decisions relating to their area of responsibility and seeking guidance when required
  4. Provide professional communication with a range of stakeholders, including providing advice on moderately complex operational and administrative issues
  5. Have a good understanding of and compliance to relevant legislative frameworks, policies, government decision-making and the Australian Submarine Agency’s mission
  6. Provide coaching and on-the-job training for newer and less experienced team members.

  6. Have strong stakeholder engagement skills and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a range of people, including at an internal and external senior executive level
