With operations across Queensland, Northern Territory, and international export markets, we operate a dynamic and high-volume supply chain environment.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Distribution Manager to manage and coordinate our end-to-end supply chain, logistics, procurement, and distribution operations. This role is critical to ensuring efficient transportation, storage, and delivery of materials across domestic and international markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organise and manage supply chain operations, logistics, warehousing, and distribution activities
- Coordinate transport, fleet operations, and delivery schedules for scrap metal and recyclable materials
- Manage inventory control, stock levels, and storage systems
- Liaise with suppliers, contractors, logistics providers, and customers to ensure timely procurement and dispatch
- Oversee import/export logistics, shipping documentation, and compliance requirements
- Monitor supply chain performance, analyse inefficiencies, and implement process improvements
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements with suppliers and transport providers
- Ensure compliance with Work Health & Safety (WHS), environmental, and regulatory standards
- Supervise and coordinate staff involved in logistics, warehousing, and distribution
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or minimum 5 years relevant work experience in lieu of formal qualification)
- Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience in supply chain, logistics, or distribution management
- Strong knowledge of logistics coordination, inventory management, procurement, and transport operations
- Experience with import/export procedures and freight coordination highly desirable
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume operational environment
