About the role

The Senior Technical Advisor – Data and Systems is a role based in Leederville, responsible for supporting drinking water and wastewater compliance through the effective management of quality systems, data and reporting. Reporting to the Manager – ACWS Water Quality, you will provide technical leadership across water and wastewater quality management systems, ensuring they are fit for purpose, compliant and continuously improving.

In this role, you will lead the development, enhancement and integration of quality and reporting systems, provide expert advice to internal users, and deliver compliance, performance and governance reporting. You will work closely with operational teams, specialist support teams and key regulators to support licence conditions, auditing programs and annual reporting. Strong stakeholder engagement, analytical capability and a proactive approach to system improvement are key to success in this role.

What you can expect with this role

  • Providing technical leadership for the development, management and continuous improvement of water and wastewater quality management systems and associated data and reporting platforms
  • Leading the enhancement and integration of reporting systems to support drinking water and wastewater compliance and governance outcomes
  • Producing, reviewing and coordinating water and wastewater compliance, performance and regulatory reporting, including audits and annual submissions
  • Acting as a subject matter expert, providing advice, support and training to operational teams and stakeholders on quality systems and processes
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders, and external regulators to support licence conditions, standards and protocol requirements
  • Driving projects and initiatives that strengthen data integrity, reporting capability and overall quality management system effectiveness

Your skills and experience

For this role, we are looking for great talent with:

  • Degree‑qualified in a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent, with substantial experience working with quality management systems and data/information management platforms
  • Strong understanding of water and wastewater quality, including regulatory, statutory and national standard requirements
  • Demonstrated experience leading or supporting the development and improvement of complex information and reporting systems
  • Highly effective at stakeholder engagement, with the ability to work collaboratively across operational teams and external regulators
  • Strong analytical, organisational and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet reporting timeframes
  • A proactive and professional approach, demonstrating behaviours that support a constructive, high‑performance and values‑driven culture
