About the role:

We are seeking an experienced and technically strong Corporate Accounting Specialist to provide expert financial accounting oversight across BaptistCare’s corporate entities. In this senior role, you will lead complex accounting matters, statutory reporting and audit activities, provide authoritative technical advice across AASB standards and taxation, and be the key Corporate Accounting representative in project initiatives.

Working closely with senior finance leaders and key internal and external stakeholders, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality financial data, interpretations and reporting, overseeing an effective and clean audit program as well as championing system and process enhancement to support informed, mission-aligned decision-making across the organisation.

This role is well suited to a seasoned corporate accountant who thrives in leading and owning end to end tasks, being inquisitive and solutioning outside of the box, working through technical accounting challenges, and valuing collaboration, integrity, and continuous improvement.

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related discipline
  • CPA or CA qualification
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in corporate financial accounting
  • Strong technical knowledge of AASB standards, taxation, statutory reporting and audit processes
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, Excel and financial reporting tools
  • Strong analytical capability and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement
  • Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to support capability development.
  • Experience in aged care, healthcare, or multi-entity environments is desired
  • Experience in continuous improvement initiatives, systems upgrades, or process redesign is an advantage
