Angkor Takeaway Darwin is currently seeking a friendly and reliable Cook and Barista to join our growing team. If you’re passionate about food, coffee, and delivering great customer service in a fast-paced takeaway environment, we’d love to hear from you.

Position 1: Cook (Full-Time)

Key Responsibilities

1. Prepare and cook a variety of Cambodian and Southeast Asian takeaway dishes in line with established recipes and quality standards
2. Inspect ingredients to ensure freshness and maintain high food quality at all times
3. Operate and monitor kitchen equipment such as grills and stovetops to ensure safe and efficient cooking
4. Season and cook food appropriately to deliver consistent flavour and presentation
5. Portion and plate meals for takeaway service, including adding sauces, garnishes, and accompaniments
6. Store food safely in temperature-controlled environments and follow stock rotation procedures
7. Prepare meals to accommodate dietary requirements, including allergy-aware options where required
8. Assist with menu planning, stock control, and estimating ingredient requirements
9. Support kitchen efficiency and assist with training junior staff when needed

About You

1. Hold a relevant qualification equivalent to an AQF Certificate III (including two years of on-the-job training);
2. OR hold an AQF Certificate IV with at least one year of relevant work experience;
3. Alternatively, at least three years of relevant experience may substitute for formal qualifications.
4. Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume takeaway setting
5. Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen operations
6. Team-oriented with good communication skills

Position 2: Barista (Full-Time)

Key Responsibilities

1. Prepare and serve a range of coffee beverages, including espresso-based drinks, in line with shop standards
2. Grind coffee beans and operate espresso machines to ensure consistency and quality
3. Maintain cleanliness of coffee machines, service areas, and equipment
4. Serve customers in a friendly and professional manner, taking orders and handling transactions accurately
5. Promote menu items, beverages, and takeaway offerings to customers
6. Replenish stock including coffee beans, milk, and takeaway items as required
7. Prepare and serve light snacks and beverages as part of the takeaway offering
8. Support overall front-of-house operations during busy service periods

About You

1. A relevant qualification equivalent to an AQF Certificate II and one year of relevant experience; OR
2. A qualification equivalent to an AQF Certificate III with at least one year of post-qualification relevant experience; OR
3. At least one year of relevant barista experience in place of formal qualifications
4. Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused attitude
5. Strong communication and multitasking skills
6. Knowledge of coffee preparation and machine handling preferred
