Exciting Casual Opportunity: Community Support Worker - Direct Care

Join our team as a Community Support Worker and make a meaningful impact in the lives of people in the South East community who are aged, frail or disabled and who wish to remain living in their own home with some assistance or are living in a Residential Aged Care Facility. Limestone Coast Local Health Network (LCLHN) provides care under a Consumer Directed Care model for the provision of aged care, disability and support services. This allows consumers to maintain greater control over their lives by allowing them to make choices about the services they receive and who delivers those services.

About the Role: As a Community Support Worker, you will play a vital role in delivering personalised care and support services. Your responsibilities will include assisting with personal care, household tasks such as cleaning and meal preparation, providing transportation, and offering valuable social support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver compassionate and respectful care to clients in their homes or residential care settings.
  • Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, and mobility as required.
  • Perform household duties including cleaning, laundry, minor gardening tasks and meal preparation.
  • Provide safe and reliable transportation for appointments and outings.
  • Engage clients in meaningful social interactions and activities to enhance their well-being.
  • As part of your role, you may also work within a Day Centre Activities centre.

About You

  • Hold a current driver’s licence and with access to your own transport,
  • Flexible, conscientious and empathetic and be able to work autonomously in the community.
  • Demonstrating the ability to perform under limited direction, you will work well within a team environment and be able to communicate effectively with people from a diverse range of backgrounds.
  • Along with a commitment to maintaining client confidentiality, you will display empathy towards the elderly and the disabled, and be willing to develop a positive rapport with clients and their families.
