HelkenHurson Pty Ltd seeks an experienced full-time Civil Engineer to join our team. The successful applicant will be reliable, hardworking, safety-driven and a good fit for the team.
Suitable applicants should have experience across civil and utility construction projects, including project coordination, site engineering, and supporting project delivery from planning through to completion.
Applicants should be capable of working across a range of projects and supporting site teams in line with company and project requirements.
Duties:
- Assist in estimating projects under the direction and supervision of the Senior Engineer, Estimator and Project Manager.
- Assist in establishing detailed programmes for the planning of the design and construction processes.
- Review project and contractual documentation on successful tenders.
- Analyse and record reports on loading, labour, productivity, quality, materials and performance.
- Price variations in a timely and accurate fashion as requested by the Project Manager.
- Sending and receiving requests for Information (RFI's) from construction sites interpreting, documenting and forwarding to clients. Follow up in a timely fashion.
- Working with Professional Engineers, Site Engineers and construction workers, ensuring all project QA documentation is in place, including maintaining ITP's.
- Assist with Site Survey and Setting Out Requirements.
- Oversee site construction work and labour needs, including materials and equipment required.
- Maintain control and distribution of all drawings and documents in line with the requirements of the QA System.
- Measure and test materials, processes or systems related to civil engineering works.
- Check to ensure that finished works are within specifications, contract terms and regulations.
- Identify potential cost savings and efficiency gains and recommend solutions.
- Assist in project risk assessment to identify any constructability issues.
- Apply the risk management process.
What We Need From You
- Degree Qualified in Civil Engineering
- Possession of an Unrestricted Driver’s Licence
- Minimum 3 years' experience in Civil and Utility Construction
- A solid understanding of the construction industry including modern construction techniques
- Engineering experience working on a mix of civil and utility projects
- Ability to work both autonomously and as a team member
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- A good level of computer literacy including MS Word, Excel, CAD, Trimble Earthworks, and Project
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of project methodologies
