Purpose of position:
You will contribute to the successful delivery of complex civil scopes including in site selection, foundation and structural design, grading and earthwork, in‑round services, structural foundations, and civil infrastructure across residential, commercial and Industrial solar energy sites.
Key Responsibilities
·Conducting site surveys to assess the location for optimal placement of solar panels and lights, considering factors such as sun exposure and shading. The objective is to find a site with optimal solar exposure, minimal shading, and adequate space for the solar array.
·Responsible for analyzing the soil's bearing capacity and stability of the selected site to determine the most suitable foundation and support structures for the solar panels.
·Ensure that the support structures can withstand the loads imposed by the solar panels and external forces such as wind and seismic events.
·Additionally, they ensure that the design complies with local building codes and safety standards.
·Conduct system sizing, shading analysis, and ROI calculations based on customer consumption data.
·Conduct rigorous inspections at various stages of construction to verify that all components meet engineering specifications and industry standards to ensure that solar panels function efficiently and safely throughout its operational life.
·Plan and execute civil engineering activities with minimal supervision
·Provide technical advice, recommendations, and engineering support across specialist civil areas
·Coordinate multi‑disciplinary design and interface management
·Manage technical inputs between engineering, contractors, and equipment suppliers
·Support forecasting, scheduling, and constructability assessments
·Contribute to quality, compliance, and continuous improvement across project phases
Skills & Experience
·Tertiary qualifications in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent)
·Minimum two years of experience in civil engineering for energy, utilities, infrastructure, or resources projects
·Strong technical capability in civil design, construction methodologies and site execution
·Effective communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
·High level of computer competency (MS Office and relevant engineering tools)
·Ability to explain technical information clearly to non-technical customers
·Ability to manage multiple cases and respond to customers in a timely manner
