About the Role
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Chef to join the kitchen team at The Bungalow Petersham. The successful candidate will play an important role in preparing and delivering high-quality dishes across breakfast, lunch, and dinner services, contributing to the restaurant’s reputation for flavour, consistency, and creativity.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes aligned with The Bungalow’s menu and service standards.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation.
- Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal and locally sourced ingredients.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP).
- Manage stock levels, control ordering, and minimise kitchen wastage.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure efficiency and teamwork.
- Work collaboratively with the Head Chef to ensure smooth kitchen operations across all service periods.
Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a commercial kitchen.
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification).
- Strong understanding of modern Australian café and restaurant cuisine.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for quality food and a commitment to delivering great customer experiences.
