About the Role

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. This role sits under ANZSCO Code ****** – Chef, and is responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality meals, maintaining kitchen operations, and upholding our food quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities

  1. Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes to a consistently high standard
  2. Assist in the development and planning of menus and specials
  3. Ensure all food is prepared and stored in accordance with food safety and hygiene regulations
  4. Monitor food quality, portion control, and presentation standards
  5. Manage kitchen inventory, stock rotation, and ordering supplies as required
  6. Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment at all times
  7. Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff and apprentices where required
  8. Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure efficient and smooth service during peak periods
  9. Comply with all relevant WHS (Work Health and Safety) requirements and food handling standards

Required Qualifications

  1. Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (minimum requirement)
  2. Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent (highly regarded)
  3. Trade qualification as a Cook or Chef recognised in Australia
  4. Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (NSW)

Skills & Experience

  1. Minimum 1 year of experience working as a Chef or Cook in a commercial kitchen
  2. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen equipment
  3. Understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, and HACCP principles
  4. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  5. Excellent time management and organisational skills
  6. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality and consistency
  7. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
  8. Flexibility to work a rotating roster including weekends, evenings, and public holidays
