We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Chef to join our kitchen team and contribute to the continued success of our restaurants.
About the Role
As a Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality dishes while supporting the kitchen team in maintaining efficient kitchen operations. You will ensure consistency, food quality, and excellent presentation of all menu items.
Key Responsibilities
· Plan menus and develop new dishes while considering seasonal ingredients, food quality, and customer preferences.
· Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards.
· Ensure food quality, taste, portioning, and presentation consistently meet the restaurant’s standards.
· Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff during food preparation and service periods.
· Manage kitchen operations to ensure efficient workflow, particularly during busy service times.
· Monitor stock levels and order ingredients, kitchen supplies, and other necessary items.
· Maintain proper storage, handling, and refrigeration of food products to ensure food safety compliance.
· Train, guide, and supervise junior kitchen staff to maintain consistent food quality and kitchen standards.
· Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness, hygiene, and workplace health and safety.
· Control food costs, manage inventory, and minimise waste.
Skills and Experience
· Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery (i.e Certificate IV in Commercial cookery or Kitchen Management or similar) or three years’ experience
· Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen environment
