Our client Himalaya Waterfront Restaurant a busy Indian-Pakistani Cuisine Restaurant is looking for an experienced and skilled Indian-Pakistani Cuisine Chef with a professional approach and skilled in managing and preparing various dishes from the Indian Cuisine in Tandoor and Curry sections.

Number of Positions: 2 Chefs

You will be required to do the following tasks & duties:

  1. Set up workstations with all the needed ingredients and cooking equipment
  2. Preparation and cooking of all curries and tandoori entrees and mains.
  3. Cook all kinds of Indian subcontinental cuisine i.e. south and north Indian food, curry’s etc.
  4. Provide training & supervision and coordinate activities of kitchen staffs and other cooks.
  5. Maintain Stock rotation, food safety & minimising wastage
  6. Daily, Weekly & Monthly cleaning of kitchen and storeroom
  7. Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
  8. Tracking food cost of the dishes.
  9. Maintaining a high standard of hygiene and keep a sanitised and orderly environment in the kitchen
  10. Contribute to Planning menus and estimating food and labour costs.
  11. Organise the supplies of the restaurant including Dairy, Meat, Vegetables, and other Groceries.
  12. Ensuring all food operations are compliant with relevant regulations and COVID safety management

Skills Required:

  1. Must have full-time working experience in Indian Kitchen
  2. Must have good knowledge of Indian Curries
  3. Must have good knowledge of Tandoori Cuisine – All tikkas, kebab, naan and rotis
  4. Cook in a fast-paced kitchen whilst maintaining effective communication with the team
  5. Good working knowledge of safety & Hygiene, and WHS standards
  6. Team player with a passion to serve authentic Indian cuisine of excellent standard

Qualifications/Experience Required:

  1. Have an AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, Diploma or Certificate IV in Cookery & Hospitality.
  2. At least 2 years culinary experience in Indian cuisine in a commercial kitchen
  3. Have a passion for food and enjoy working in a busy kitchen environment.
