About This Role
·Prepare and cook menu items according to Café 63 standards, ensuring consistent taste, quality, and presentation while selecting fresh ingredients and adjusting dishes to meet customer preferences.
·Follow strict food safety and hygiene standards by maintaining a clean and organised kitchen, ensuring all staff adhere to safety procedures, and handling kitchen equipment safely at all times.
·Manage the kitchen during busy service hours by coordinating with staff, following Café 63 procedures, and ensuring timely preparation and delivery of orders.
·Monitor food stock and ingredients, order supplies, control food costs, and minimise waste through efficient inventory management.
·Work closely with the kitchen team, train and guide junior staff, communicate with management on kitchen needs, and maintain a positive and efficient work environment.
·Assist in creating and improving menu items, maintain consistency with Café 63, and introduce new dishes when required.
·Handle kitchen operations from opening to closing, manage staff rosters and workflow, and ensure smooth service across all shifts.
·Liaising with managers, dietitians, and kitchen and service staff on food preparation matters.
·Showcasing cooking techniques and advising on preparation methods.
·Carrying out food freezing and preservation activities.
Qualifications & Experience:
·Applicants possess a Diploma in Hospitality Management.
·Minimum 1 year of experience as a chef.
·Strong ability to carry out tasks with precision and attention to detail.
·Ability to manage multiple tasks without compromising quality or safety.
·Ability to develop and improve recipes or menus.
·Sound judgment, particularly in high-pressure situations.
·Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
·Proven capability to accurately follow instructions.
·Excellent verbal communication and customer interaction skills.
·A proactive and positive mindset.
·Well-structured and organized approach to work.
