About the Opportunity
Dust Free Concrete Cutting is a specialist contractor delivering precision concrete cutting, structural removal, and controlled demolition services across complex commercial and civil construction projects.
We are seeking a Building Associate to support the technical planning, coordination, and supervision of our concrete cutting and structural works. This is a technical and supervisory role, not a general labouring position, and is suited to someone with formal building qualifications and construction site experience.
Key Responsibilities
The role will include, but is not limited to:
- Site Planning: Assisting Construction Managers and Site Supervisors with the planning and organisation of concrete cutting and structural removal works.
- Technical Interpretation: Interpreting construction drawings, specifications, regulations, and codes of practice (including the NCC).
- Resource Coordination: Coordinating work programs, including scheduling specialised crews and high-tech equipment (e.g., remote-controlled demolition robots).
- Quality Assurance: Inspecting works and materials to ensure compliance with project specifications, Australian Standards, and WHS requirements.
- Safety Leadership: Supporting implementation of silica dust suppression and other site-specific safety controls.
- Cost & Estimation: Assisting with estimating quantities, costs, and timeframes for specialised concrete cutting and drilling works.
- Documentation: Preparing and reviewing technical documentation, site records, and progress reports.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Liaising with builders, engineers, and site teams to support safe and efficient project delivery.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Qualification: Hold, or be working towards, a Diploma of Building and Construction or equivalent.
- Experience: Have at least 2 years of relevant construction industry experience.
- Skills: Able to interpret complex plans and technical documentation accurately.
- Compliance: Familiar with WHS requirements on commercial or civil construction sites.
- Mindset: Comfortable working in a coordination and site supervision role, managing technical workflows.
- Status: Have appropriate Australian working rights or be eligible for employer sponsorship (Subclass 482).
