The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) is seeking a motivated and experienced APS6 Work Health & Safety Officer to contribute to the delivery of a high performing, enterprise-wide Work Health & Safety Management System (WHSMS). This role is critical in supporting DFAT’s commitment to providing a safe, healthy and resilient workplace for staff in Australia and at posts around the world.

As a WHS Officer, you will work collaboratively across business areas to promote best practice, strengthen organisational safety culture, and support the effective management of WHS risks—including those unique to DFAT’s global operating environment.

This role exercises a high level of independence, judgement, and stakeholder engagement. You will contribute to policy development, undertake data analysis, support incident and risk management processes, support governance arrangements, and provide informed advice to stakeholders across Canberra divisions and international posts.
